Saraswati
Om
Eim Saraswatiyei Namaha
Astride
her swan or peacock vehicle, or floating on a lotus blossom,
Draped in a white sari edged with rich golden embroidery,
She is Serene and transcendent, full of grace.
Adorned
with gold and pearls, pure and beautiful,
Holding book and lute, water pot and pearl rosary in her 4 resplendent
arms,
She shines brilliantly and whitely like innumerable moons.
She
flows down as a river of celestial grace
She purifies, she cleanses, She is a healing medicine
Her waters bestow bounty, fertility and riches on the earth, nourishing
life.
She
resides on the tongues of the Gods
as sacred creative speech and sound,
through which all the worlds were made.
She
dwells on the tongues of poets as eloquence
and awakens happy and noble thoughts
and impels true and sweet and great speech.
Through
speech rationality is developed, thought is articulated, reasoning
pursued,
Through speech we learn, exchange ideas, debate, explore concepts,
gain insight.
She pervades reality with insight, knowledge and learning.
Her
form is in all the arts and sciences, material and spiritual
Poetry, Writing, Ritual, Theatre, Painting, Sculpture, Music,
Singing, Dance,
Biology, Philosophy, Yoga, Physics, Metaphysics, Thealogy.
In
Schools and Colleges, Universities and Libraries
In all places of education she is made manifest.
She causes books to be made.
Wherever
there is study and the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom
Wherever human culture is inspired and developed and perfected
There she resides:
She
who is the power of memory
She who is the power of knowledge
She who's form is the power of intellect
She who is the power of forming ideas
She who is intelligence.
